Life’s path isn’t always linear. Mine zig-zagged from the pace of restaurant kitchens to the precision of a research lab and the rhythm of a major bank’s call center—each stop sharpening perspective and resilience on my way to design.

A Chance Door Opens in Montpellier

In Montpellier, France, I volunteered to cook for a local family’s gathering. The guests? Members of an art club exploring creativity in all forms. My “exotic” dishes sparked conversations—and curiosity about my journey—which led to a pivotal discussion with a graphic designer who produced the club’s book.

Discovering the Craft of Design

That dialogue unlocked a new world: book design’s choreography of layout, typography, photography, and readability. It wasn’t just pretty pages; it was systems thinking in service of stories. I was hooked.

Finding My Path Back in the States

Back in the U.S., I researched where to turn inspiration into skill. The Art Institute of Dallas stood out—thanks in part to a smart online ad strategy that met me right when I was searching. Seven-plus years later, I’ve grown into a seasoned graphic and web designer, building across layout, typography, and beyond.

From Pixels to Storytelling

Every project became a stepping stone—new tools, tighter process, clearer thinking. Today I’m more than a UI designer; I’m a storyteller, weaving narratives through pixels and code to make information feel effortless and humane.
